Short Sighted Once Again

Once again, in an effort to appear tough on criminals, the Harper government has cut a program that was working, here.

At first blush, it seems logical not to provide something like tattoos for prisoners, but if you look deeper, you can see the logic.

This is not a program designed to coddle criminals, it's one that is meant to prevent the spread of disease.

To think that the PM and his government would have that much vision gives them far too much credit

Just another day in the Tory government. If he really wants to cut some pork, he and his cronies should take a pay cut.

I don't think he gives a hoot if prisoners get AIDS or hepatitis from unsafe tattoo practices. As far as prison hard-liners are concerned, they'd rather see people rot than afford them anything that might actually help them.
