You may not recognise the woman on the left in this picture, but I suspect many of you interacted with her.
On Twitter she was known as Penlan and her blog was Politics for the People . You'll notice that her last post was about Ignatieff coming to her town and that is where this photo is from.
I'm sure I'll have much more to add to this post a little later, but for the moment, I wanted to let you know that Penny passed away yesterday.
She was a very passionate person, who cared deeply about democracy and made her voice known, while encouraging others to do the same. She had a huge heart and fought against injustice.
I will miss her.

Great picture.
I remember her telling me when the LPCX bus stopped in her town, how she enjoyed meeting him in person.
We had each exchanged and compared our respective experiences of the LPCX when it stopped in our towns and had agreed Ignatieff was often distorted in the media.
Yes, we spoke of this meeting. I'll try to add more on that later.
This is so sad. I really enjoyed her various views on subjects. I think one of her lasts posts that struck me was talking about her cat, and how it was much better after being very sick. The vet bill had been very high, but it was her birthday, so she said paying the vet bill was her present to herself.
Sophie-Anne, you just started the tears again.
RIP Penny. You will be missed.
Very sorry to hear this. I hope her cat will be loved and well cared for, because she would have wanted that.
I never realized that penlan was that petite. She seemed so much larger in her comments.
Ima1...She had more than one and I hope so too.
Willy, yes a bit short, but she'd not admit it.
You're right though, she found her stature in voice.
@KNB: Is there any way I can contribute to the care of her cats? Perhaps a fund could be set up to arrange for a temporary home and find a new home? I will suggest this over at James Curran's blog as well.
This is such sad news. Penlan (Penny) contributed energetically to discussions on so many blogs that I visit. Her comments often led me to check out her own blog.
