In the old days, it was not called the Holiday Season; the Christians called it 'Christmas' and went to church; the Jews called it 'Hanukkah' and went to synagogue; the atheists went to parties and drank. People passing each other on the street would say 'Merry Christmas!' or 'Happy Hanukkah!' or (to the atheists) 'Look out for the wall!' ~Dave Barry, "Christmas Shopping: A Survivor's Guide"
...all the best wishes possible for you and yours and let's hope that 2009 will bring something positive for our troubled world.

I'm an artist with an interest in politics.
I'm also Charles A. Brown's granddaughter. He served WW1 - 73rd Battalion CEF, then later in the RAF. I'm afraid he kept his battles with the Red Baron a secret.

Merry Christmas to you too Marta.
Thanks for your kind words, but it's the comments in response to my posts that are important, I think.

No pressure to comment Marta. I just meant that often the comments take on a life of their own that is more interesting than the post.
I'm more than grateful to have you as a reader.
