Speaking of the background. The ad is fluffy enough that my minds wanders and I speculate on how it was projected...
With resepct to the ad. The points are accurate, we do need to re-tool ourselves.
Given that, we need to re-tool our universities. Has Ignatieff ever commented on what our universities should look like in the future?
Tomm We don't give a damn what you think of the LIberal ads. ITs a know fact on this tread that you have been drinking the reform/Alliance Cool Aid ever since Harper made an appearance. That you are barrow minded, a complete Reform hack and the sky could fall around you and you would still be spining his lies.The average Canadian, anyone over 20 are not as stupid as you would like think they are. The Liberals sit well with the retirees and the dirty ad business that Harper is know for doesn't sit well with them. And another reason, they have lived through a lot of liberal Government and they know where they stand with them not like your wish washy Harper. He say one thing today, complete opposite tomorrow.
In other words Tomm, harper and his jokers do not fool them a bit.

Let me be clear here. Because I support Harper, and because you disagree with me you think you have the right to jump out of the woodwork and rail away against me and all those of my ilk.

Sit back, catch your breath and ask yourself what you have become. Then ask yourself whether it is Harper's fault, or perhaps it is the fault of all those telling you what a hell Canada is becoming and who you need to blame for it all.
If you met me at a coffee shop would you immediately hate me and start railing away about my being unfit to live in your country?

Tomm, Maybe I was a little harsh but you Reforms/ bring out this kind of behavior in everyone. Have you noticed Tomm that whenever you pick up a newspaper these days, we see the Reforms announcing more monies that they claim that we don't have? Add all of it up and it totals a lot more than any election. Stimulus monies maybe that didn't actually get spent? would be my guess where those monies are coming from.
Tomm, you and your closed minded Reform/Harper supporters make it too easy to jump right in with retorts and if the truth hurts you, so be it. Lies are hurting us much more. How can anyone after seeing Harper for the past 4 years still have the nerve and credibilty to support a man who doesn't care beans about your kind as well. What he dose is for his own selfish needs and if he had to walk all over you to get there, he would. He is using you people and you are too blind to see him for what he is. Tomm, if you were one of the thousands that have no job, no money for food and clothing, you would be saying the same things. Do you want to have been working at a good job and having to resort to a minimum one or none and still feel that you can support a party like the Reform/Alliance because in case you don't know, that's what they are, not the Progressive Conservatives he wants you to believe he is.
Tomm if I met you in a cofffe shop and you inisted on spining your way through the meeting, I would still feel the same about you and the same about your idol. And yes, I am a woman and women do not like that man for good reason.
And further Tomm, I am but a single Canadian who is seeing my country and its people losing their pride, their country and I don't like it one bit. And yes Tomm, the way I feel is definitly Harpers fault. He is the devil reincarnated, he is evil and one day soon he will have to pay the price. There Tomm, that's my rant for the day and I probably will have another one tomorrow.That's what the Dictator Harper brings out in people. Rage and hate.

Wow, what a lame bit of blame reversal. Tomm, Harper is PM and that means he has responsibility. Now, I know he doesn't like to accept it but that's just too bad. Sorry we can't all agree with they way you frame the argument.

Spare us Tomm, you are always taking potshots at "lefties" and "kool aid drinkers". It's just that your insults are stale and old; nearly pre-confederation old. Oh yeah and you put your opinion out there so take the feedback. It seems more like you can dish out the Reform crap but you dont like what it gets you. Funny when you ask Canadians or get feedback instead of speaking on behalf of them.
Think about it Tomm, you bring on your own flack, and you deserve each and every bit of it.

You are under some deluded impression that if Chretien or Martin were PM we would be living in a kinder gentler nation.
Life isn't a novel. The LPC has no interest in helping you. They just want your damn vote, and the angrier the better. And they will say pretty much anything to get it.
How do you personally come to terms with Dion being the leader, than Ignatieff being the leader of the same party and both having starkly different visions of Canada and the world? What does that tell you about the soul of the Liberal Party? How do you reconcile your "green" politics last year, and whatever the Liberal's are peddling today?
But let's talk about the Conservative Party. You are correct that they were born out of the Reform Party. My dad was a Reformer (I use to laugh at him). But he wasn't a racist, bigot, or anything, just a guy that worked his whole life and never heard politican's say what he needed them to say.
The Reform Party had a soul. It was filled with real people.
Let's move to today. What I want is for the government to quit fooling people into making them think the government can do everything. I was involved with minor sports in my town. Can you imagine the government running minor sports? Well, there are a lot of people out there who won't volunteer for stuff or get involved because they think the government should be doing it.
I want a Canada that has government to do its job, but not pretend it is all things to all people. All the parties except the Conservative Party are essentially lying to their voters. They are pretending that the government is their salvation and their solution. Wrap ourselves in Crown corps, marketing and regulatory boards, and the charter. We will all be snug as a bug in a rug. It's a lie. What makes Canada strong is its people. Strong, confident, hard working, caring people that work together to help the least fortunate.
But let's be clear. For those who refuse to help themselves, we have an obligation to show them how to help themselves, not by an endless stream of support. People are more likely to develop confidence and achievement when you treat them like adults.

(unless you're 14 years old?...in which case, your mental health is probably fine. Nothing that a little age and maturity won't fix..)
