Hey KNB, can we please move on? Under his "leadership" we bottomed out at 26% of the vote. The worst showing in Liberal history. We are non-existent in most parts of the country, and people like you still keep singing the praises of this guy. Enough already. Please!!

It wished he'd stayed on but so be it. It was nice to think that maybe politics could be about big ideas instead of photo-ops, focus groups, and "messaging", but the election results proved otherwise. It was an unmitigated disaster (I thought 30-35 seats in Ontario was the absolute worst case scenario, 38 was pretty close).

The Harper "not a leader" campaign was a copy of Mike Harris' "just not up to the job" campaign against McGuinty in 1999. But McGuinty grew into his job, and the same character assasination was less effective as time wore on. The 2003 campaign was much better run. I had hoped something similar would happen with Dion. Now the Libs will have a rookie leader against Harper running his fourth campaign. I have a foreboding sense of Ontario's Common Sense Revolution being inflicted on the whole nation. Prospects for the next election are not promising.

Hey anon...I have actually moved on, but felt the need to say thank you.

Must be the way I was brought up.

omar, there are aspects to the future of this party where indeed I would apply your quote.

MD: I have a foreboding sense of Ontario's Common Sense Revolution being inflicted on the whole nation.

Blamed entirely on the Liberals of course.

Actually, I think we can prevent that MD, but it is going to take a concerted effort.

Lot's of work to do. It could have been different, but it is what it is now. What is important to me is to make sure that we move forward not for the sake of it, but that we really take stock and rebuild without the rancor seen in the past.
