Well, If You Don't Have Momentum Now?

Some of you may know that I don't put much stock in polls that are taken just for the sake of it and I haven't changed my opinion on that. The poll released today though, can't just go by without comment.

There is no question, as I commented yesterday, that the Lib's have had a bad month. Yet in spite of that the Con's have not moved one little bit and nor have the Lib's and indeed, the NDP have dropped a point.

Sorry, but I find this hilarious. If Harper can't move his numbers with the way things are going for the Lib's at the moment, how on earth will he move them?

The Liberals actually lead the Tories in the three largest provinces, throughout Atlantic Canada, and among women and younger voters.

Perhaps after reading that bit of news, the right will agree with Ann Coulter's latest claim, that women are stupid and if they didn't have the vote (a pipe dream of hers?) there would never be another liberal government. (Will that woman ever just dry up and go away?)

I guess to be a little more serious, the poll says a couple of things. Voters are pretty locked in, no matter what. It also suggests to me, as I've said before, no one cares about the stuff that we political junkies obsess over. Most people don't follow what the big players are doing, let alone the backroom "stuff".

I'm not suggesting it's good news for the Lib's and I still believe there is much work to be done there, but it is bad news for the con's. Anderson spins it otherwise, but who is surprised about that and who cares what he says? All the spin meisters are obviously failing at there job's. When they speak, we yawn, or I do.

Maybe, just maybe, Canadians are saying they are sick of the spin and sincerity may just strike a chord.

Addition- More commentary from Steve.

I've never seen this dynamic before, quite a testament to Canadians fundamental apprehension to the Conservatives.

If you'd taken the time to actually read the report, you'd have seen that Decima themselves mention the numbers are bent as a result of a large portion of the polling coming from Montreal...

Stephan Harper... bring it on man!

And, that is different from the polls last year how exactly? Given what has been going on in Quebec, the fact the Liberals slightly outpace the Conservatives is bad news no matter how you spin it joe.

How do the Con numbers look if you eliminate Alberta? Exactly, everyone can play that game.

joe calgary...if most of the polling has come from Quebec, where the Lib's are in trouble, that would make your situation worse wouldn't it?

Face it, Harper has dropped his so-con followers, spent more than any Lib and didn't cut taxes. He only appeals to you who adore him, for apparently no reason.

Hubris Uber Alles! Harpo's days are numbered - definitely - if we get our own act together. The Canadian public waits for that opportunity. They really do.
