This whole thing is becoming a farce.
I have dealt with a few "expert" witnesses in my time. it is not at all surprising to me they would have some differences in their opinions - because that is what they are offering - opinions.
People get so hung up in the definition of "expert". The fact is, someone can call himself an expert but that does not mean the court will agree. Furthermore, experts can be wrong - as a few wrongfully convicted individuals who were the victims of an incompetent coroner in Ontario can probably attest to.
I do not think what is happening here is that unusual in terms of the court action, but as far as PR goes surely this is a nightmare for the CPC. It is their own fault - holding a press conference and touting those two opinions like they are absolute fact. When you pull a stunt like that you better make sure nothing is going to come back and bite you in the ass.
If I were Zytaruk, and I knew for a fact I did not doctor the tape, I would not give it to the CPC either - not after they have spent the last several weeks calling me a fraud. How can he trust them if he knows his tape is unedited and their "experts" say otherwise?
He'd be a fool to submit the original tape to the Tories - save it for the courts.
How can we be sure that the CPC didn't doctor their copy of the tape?
Profanity is "swear words" - depressing? I think what's going on around the world is depressing and sometimes swear words can help - vent.
