Speaking to the Economic Club of Toronto, John Tory softened his stance on faith-based, publicly funded schools. He still stands by his decision but he now will allow MPP's to vote freely on the matter. This he says demonstrates a position of strength. Right.
I will say that his spin meisters spun it well. However if modifying a major plank in your platform, one that the public doesn't support, nor do some of his MPP's at the 11th hour is his definition of strength, I suggest he needs a new dictionary. Oh, did I mention that small detail of a 10 point lead in the polls by the Liberals? That had no impact apparently.
He may try to spin this into, "I'm listening to the people", but it's nothing more than good old fashioned damage control.
Perhaps he thinks this is now behind him and he can focus on other issues. Fine by me. Let's focus on this one shall we?

Knb, they quoted this part on Newman's show today :)
Thanks Steve. I saw that and was shocked.
Because of how they depict it, it didn't bring traffic, but fun.
You've been on right? I know RT has. Anyway, if that's the case, I'm in good company.
At least he modifies his platform before the election instead of simply lying like McGuinty.
"At least he modifies his platform before the election instead of simply lying like McGuinty."
Lying? Is that like when you say you have a surplus heading into an election, but really you saddle the province with a 5 plus billion dollar deficit? If you say McGuinty lied, I believe you because the PC's know liars.
"You've been on right?"
No, but it's neat that they do that segment. BCL was on last week.
At least he modifies his platform before the election instead of simply lying like McGuinty.
That is going to be the con line?
Pathetic. Nice try though.
Funny thing. Those who objected loudly to the plank, were con's. Those who are objecting to his current position...con's.
Not too tough to figure this out.
