This is Dion

The real Dion, which is the complete opposite to what the Conservatives would have you believe.

If you know someone who is still unclear of who Dion is and what he stands for, send them the site. Contained within this site is a link to the Liberal site if they are looking for more detail.

They need to get some of this on TV. At least a small add to point people to this site. Here in Atlantic Canada I haven't seen any ad's except Tory ads (every commercial!)

"small ad"

I agree with Robert.

It is a good site. Funny,I thought the LPC were not prepared for this campaign???

I do think it is a bit too much like the "warm and fuzzy" Harper ads, but if they work for Harper why can't they work for Dion?

I particularly liked his comments about trying to get things done with government (read through a long document and then end with "we need a plan"). He says we need to start with a plan, not end by acknowledging the need for a plan.

As someone who often deals with government bureaucracy, I totally understand his frustration with that process. That comment alone would have been enough to sway me.

me dere, CBC Newsworld is covering it quite extensively.

gayle, I picked up on that one too.

The way he said, 'ah, I hate that', tells you quite a bit.

Why is this IMPORTANT? I saw part of an interview he had on CNN about his new book -

He was comparing environmental programmes of Obama and McCain and he said neither would get it done. He said Obama's was better than McCain's........

here's the clincher....after a lot of study the ONLY way it will be successful if "carbon tax".

Now if only we had pulitzer prize winning journalists here in Canada of the calibre of this man - you think it's easy getting good journalists in Canada.

It's a pretty universal concept sandi, I just wish more 3rd parties were out there endorsing the tax.

Too few have been guests on news shows etc.

I'll have to add the book to my list.

some of the videos cutting out half way for you people?

oh and as i've been saying they really have to get that green shift ad on tv too. That's a very well done ad. Best ad of the campaign for any party by far. Too bad they don't have it playing for everyone to see. The web is important but the tv is still where you'll get most of your votes.

me dere robert, use the flash player and see how that works for you.

Flash with Firefox is the one that isn't working for all videos.

HTML page works fine.

Good to hear. It was the opposite for me.

The real Dion? I dunno, seems rather reactionary to me. And getting it out so quickly as a counter-punch comes across a little like panic. Just because Harper has projected this warm and fuzzy 'get-to-know-me' shtick doesn't mean Dion needs to immediately do the same. If anything Dion needs to project images of toughness and decisiveness. I could care a less someone skis, snowshoes or whatever. It is not important (to me). Dion is going to win this election by travelling the country getting his message out and meeting with Canadians. TV is going to do him in I'm afraid.

Karen said...

Omar, I know you feel that way, but I think he's doing both. Re-branding or rather honestly branding to negate the false image the Con's put up, but he himself is on the road promoting his policies.

He's getting excellent coverage on both counts.

I sincerely doubt that this was put together hastily. I think it must have been planned for, specifically to refocus people away from the Conservative nonsense.

For 2 days now he has been out ahead of Harper and Harper's message has been buried by other events.

Are you seeing many lawn signs where you are? I have yet to see one from any of the parties! That seems a little odd to me. Voter apathy is not going to be a friend of the Liberals.

Karen said...

No, I've not seen any here either.

I expect that come the weekend there will be more activity, though I noticed Garth is busy planting signs.

RuralSandi said...

We have no lawnsigns from any of the parties in my neighbourhood - I don't mind at all.

I never look at lawn signs.

Here, in Ottawa-Vanier, the CPC signs came out mere hours after the writ had been dropped. I'm sure they had been ready for weeks...

Karen said...

Gee Sir Francis. How on earth could the Con's have had an advantage in terms of timing?

That said, I'm going to cycle and drive around different areas every day to see what's going on around here.

I'm wondering why the Globe and Mail's election 'Poll Snapshot' does not include Nanos? Wasn't this the firm that was almost bang on with its 2006 election numbers?

"I'm wondering why the Globe and Mail's election 'Poll Snapshot' does not include Nanos? Wasn't this the firm that was almost bang on with its 2006 election numbers?"

This is my opinion on this take for what it is worth. Is it just possible that it has something to do with rights? Maybe the other firms agreed to give the to the Globe and Mail publication rights, and they couldn't come to an agreement with Nanos. That could be a possibility here but I'M just guessing here. What does anyone think about what I just said?
