Accountability? What a Farce

It's always something, isn't it? In 2005 the Con's failed to disclose 1.7 million in delegate fees. This year, we have this.

We'll have to wait to see if the allegations are true of course, but at this moment in time, it doesn't look good. Especially when you see them back pedalling.

Wasn't there another story a little while back that suggested that the party was pressuring it's senior staffers to pay $1000.00 each to the party? Whatever happened with that?

And of course we now have this nasty piece of business. It's pretty clear that the con's believe they can flout convention, procedure and perhaps even the law. The attitude of Dick Harris is pretty galling, but sadly not shocking.

Canadians may not have been paying attention to politics this summer, but if the con's think this stuff is going to go away, they are mistaken.

They continue to attempt to resuscitate AdScam as the issue of the day, which is hilarious since only 2% of the country still cares. Not such a good strategy imo, when you're involved in a contemporary scandal.

These guys are about as devious as it gets and it's catching up to them.

KNB don't forget its
the Conservatives who are bringing this to court not thee other way around.

They obvious think there right so there going to court over it! There is no fraud here or money that was stolen from the tax payers.

"We'll have to wait to see if the allegations are true of course, but at this moment in time, it doesn't look good. Especially when you see them back pedalling."
What are you talking about back pedaling it
happens all the time in
lawsuits. We see lawsuits
that starts in the
hundreds then ends up
with only a few people involved.

"And of course we now have this nasty piece of business. It's pretty clear that the con's believe they can flout convention, procedure and perhaps even the law. The attitude of Dick Harris is pretty galling, but sadly not shocking."
There is nothing illegal
about this the government
is in its right to do it!

"Wasn't there another story a little while back that suggested that the party was pressuring it's senior staffers to pay $1000.00 each to the party? Whatever happened with that?" My point exactly no one cares, and
where is thee illegal
part here?

It's barely a bleep on
the radar screen no one cares!! Because no tax payers money has been stolen that's why.

Now for Dion asking
for the Conservatives to
open their books about
this. What kind of an idiot would say something like this when the case is before the courts. We see it all the time when cases are before the courts they all say that we can't talk about it and yet this idiot Dion ask the cons. to open the their books. I have to chuckle about this.;)

Good grief John...you adore these guy's so much that you give them a pass on everything they do that is hypocritical.

Fair enough, you love Harper. He has contravened just about every promise he made...but hey go for it. He lies, but if that's okay with you, support him.

John, sadly you are so blinded, it's tough to have a discussion. You only spew talking points that your party puts out. That is not analysis of the situation. "Defend at all costs"...how honourable is that?

I have condemned AdScam. The thought was not bad, those who took advantage, completely wrong, and they should be convicted...no politicians though, the con's forget that. I'm not suggesting that the idiots that took money should be given a pass. To the contrary...and I doubt you've ever found a Liberal who supports AdScam.

That you support what Harris is doing in BC tells me all I need to know. It's not about illegality, it's about how our system works. We elect MP's to represent us. Cullen is that person at this time. It's not up to government to assign someone in his stead.

Do you really understand how our system works?

You railed on me a few posts back about a comparison to Russia...you have no idea how much you sound like you support their system.

Kindly do not insult me again by suggesting that I do not understand their rule of law. I've told you many times, that I post based on my research. I do not mean to insult you, but you insult me by assuming that I do not know the facts.

I never intend to insult you if i did I'm
sorry, but your the one who mentioned the adscam not me. We disagree on facts period. You want me to tell you that i agree with your facts no i wont, because believe it or not we still have freedom of opinion
in this country,57% of
the people think that this country is on the right track.

I'll repeat it if i insulted you that surely wasn't my intention, but
i will continue to press
my opinions and the facts
the way i see them and you press them the way you seem them.

Believe it or not
your not thee only one
who has a monopoly on
the facts in our country!!

The only reason the Cons are going to court is to try and muddy the ground. This issue strikes right at the heart of the entire "mandate". Harper ran against the Liberals, put his party on a ethical pedestal, passed laws on financing, and now the blatant hypocrisy is revealed. This story has legs, because of the comments from Conservatives involved, so good luck hoping it will pass. BTW, when is Harper finally going to release his past donor list, the same list he now demands of others in the name of accountability. These people are pius frauds, and time continues to expose the vascade.

It appears that 25 NDP candidates purchased radio/tv ads from their National party too.

And depending upon the law interpretation, printed pamphets from the National parties, with candidates name attached or stamped on, could be considered 'National' ads, if radio/tv ad with taglines are.
So, perhaps Liberals would like to wait for more facts before attacking.
Or not.

Perhaps it is a loophole. But then so is writing off deliquent loans to leadership candidates...

Liberals don't have to wait, because there is only one party that claims the moral high ground. Liberals have never rode the white horse of purity, that is strictly the domain of the right, wherein they chastize others and then continually fall in their bullshit. The onus is on the Cons, because they made this their issue. Thud.

Thud.

The "thud" must have been the sound of a puffin hitting the window.

Typical CPC supporters - thug? They don't even realize Ignatieff of making fun - you know, humour - just what conservatives lack.

Man of man - how depressing these people are.

If they watched the clips of Ignatieff on CTV they'd realize he was having fun.

What a bunch of boneheads - including the conservative MSM.

"johnny" said - wait to see if allegations are true - duh! Gee, that never stopped the conservatives from making allegations on a daily basis when in opposition and then treating these stupid allegations like it was a tried and true and the person was guilty before checked out.

LOL...poor little Puffin

'Liberals have never rode the white horse of purity,'

well, you are now Steve.

Liberals want all to be forgotten about the scandal and political corruption of the 'old' Liberal party.
Ok, it is time we move on.
IMO, even tho I would dearly love to see the Chretien Liberals pay for Adscam,
I more so want to see a united Canada, meaning the separatists not given any fodder for
their 'cause'.
PMSH has made huge strides in neutralizing the Bloc, I wouldn't want to see them rise again.
But your guys, and the horse they rode in on, better be clean as a whistle to do that.

You are joking right? The government has NO right to assign an unelected liason to deal directly with constituents, when they have a duly elected MP.

The story is getting worse today.

Of course the PMO is screaming that they knew nothing of it. Baloney. What about this guy.

"Of course the PMO is screaming that they knew nothing of it. Baloney. What about this guy."

Now what is wrong
with Senator, Hon. Michael M. Fortier ?
Just because he is unelected minister and a
senator at that. We've been threw this before nothing wrong with it period!

I realize that you hate this government, and
that you follow the Libs blindly, but please be honest with yourself
this government must be doing something right it can't be all bad even for you. This is if your honest with yourself if your not then its another story.

BTW how about the
beautiful treatment that
your guy Danny boy gave
your leader Dion in
NFLD!
wasn't that great? It
backed fire on Dion and i love it;)

Dion wants to put
forward a motion about
the Afghan mission 2009
you know the story. Guess
what? It would seem that
the NDP will vote against
it just like the other time.

John, you are entitled to your opinion, as I've said, I do not censor. I'm not trying to stifle that. I take exception when you suggest that I know nothing about Russia, etc.

To your point, Fortier, what's wrong with that? Laugh out loud funny. Harper said he'd never do that. Harper said he'd do everything differently...those terrible Lib's did everything wrong. They weren't up front, they weren't honest, they appointed people.

Wake up John, Harper has contravened every single one of his promises.

You're fine with that?

This particular case, which I see you did not address, is not a part of our system. Period. Defend what is wrong all you like. Wrong is wrong.

I'm so glad to see who his supporters are. They are defending what they criticised. Hilarious.

KNB thee only think I could say to that KNB is
I hope we can find an agreement on another post.We definitely don't agree with this one too bad!!

I just wish that the
left can take their blinders off,oh well you
can't win them all.

Shaking the dung-like dew off the Jonny-Dumb-Latelies of the blogsphere does take some work. But his lame-ass defence of 'doing business like the other guys, only with a constipated look on our faces' has so many holes... It is about ripping off taxpayers, because these so-called donations are subsidized by the Canadian taxpayer. That's you and me.
Just as KNB sez Adscam was wrong, so is this crap -- but hey, just because youre caught with your hand in the till, don't pretend that its not your till.
The Harris thing was incredibly stoopid and is an off-shoot to what the CONs have been trying to pull in Quebec with captain Moneybags but no balls Fortier.
However, at least Harris' words demonstrated, at least when you found the truth between the lines, what he actually thinks.
"Heck yah, its by my own experience that I can recommend (Cullen's) constituents call our patsy first. Because I was a useless, turd of an MP for 14 years of Liberal government, and had i a bone of honesty in my body I would have told my constituents the same thing - I'm no good to you so contact your local Liberal!"
